The Government has launched its new drafts for energy efficiency and conservation strategies. According to Energy Minister Gerry Brownlee, the strategies are restructured in order to make them in line with the new policy preferences by the Government. These new strategies will also aim for a better economy of the country.

There are three new strategic drafts known as New Zealand Energy Strategy and New Zealand Energy Efficiency and Conservation Strategy. New Zealand Energy strategy will set the guidelines for the energy sector, whereas, NZEECS would be focusing on the encouragement of energy efficiency and its conservation. The new strategies also focus on decreasing the greenhousegas emissions.
